Going pro: What your color says about you

Gallery: What message does your outfit send?

GrayBrownBlackWhiteRed

Somewhere during your grown-up years, chances are you'll have the opportunity to attend some sort of networking event. And, while you could go with the resume tee, in some professions that might not go over all that well -- you need to find a more polished, professional look.

However, before you throw on your trusty old suit, think about the message you want to send. Just as the type of attire you choose (suit, dress, etc.) says something about you, the color you choose sends a message to prospective contacts and employers. Check out the gallery to see what impression different colors make.

Light jackets for spring and beyond

In the header on Dunderdon's website it says: Work. Wear. That pretty much says it all. Of course we like to say: Work? Where? Then we run like hell in the opposite direction. It's a survival thing.

Dunderdon was created by carpenter Per-Ivan Hagberg and is considered Sweden's most innovative work-wear company.

Their designs are made for the worker, from blue-collar professionals to no-collar creative-types (hey, that's us!), so you know that durability is key, but that doesn't mean they slack on style.

Take some 8-bit style to the workplace

8-bit tieBoys, sometimes it's not enough to be mocked just for your Mario tattoo or your elaborate Second Life family of friends and it's important to take that extra step of geekery in the workplace. Never fear, for ThinkGeek's 8-bit tie is here. It's exactly as it sounds: this is a tie made to look like it came straight from an 8-bit word. To maintain the 2-D illusion and avoid the rounded knot, the tie is a clip-on. It's hand-made from a microfiber material and goes for $19.99.

In theory, I think it's a cool idea, but I'm starting to wonder how I'd react if I really saw someone wearing this around the workplace. I suppose it depends on whether the workplace is super corporate or more laidback... or if the company's run by Wario.
