Steve & Barry's will carry SATC merchandise

After posing alongside Mr. Big for an upcoming issue of Vogue, and sitting pretty on Oprah's couch, Sarah Jessica Parker now wants to sell us Sex and the City merch.

Steve & Barry's, who produces SJP's inexpensive clothing line Bitten, has been tapped to create the collection of t-shirts and tank tops in honor of the block-buster summer flick, which opens on May 30th.

Much like the four girls themselves, the pieces come equipped with sassy phrases like "I'm with Mr. Big" and "I (Heart) Sex and the City." Meanwhile, the rest of the items will feature the faces of the movie's stars.

Even cooler, though, is the fact that everything will go for $8.99 or less, which means you can save the rest of your cash for the popcorn and candy.

CNN headlines make great t-shirts

Complain all you want, at least one good thing comes out of the relentless buzz of the 24hour news age -- t-shirts. At least a couple times a day, we come across headlines that are about 1,000 times more interesting that the story they belong to. It seems like a waste to let those comedic pearls sink into the nether regions of crappy news. Apparently, this injustice has not gone unnoticed by the folks at CNN.

Now you can buy today's recycled headlines on CNN.com -- just look for the t-shirt icon next to your favorite headline and click it. Or, if you want to skip the news all together -- which we recommend -- you can go straight to the t-shirts. The t-shirt site is still in the testing stages, but we're hoping that they'll offer a bigger backlog of headlines.

David & Goliath: T-Shirt(s) of the day

Whit Honea is a slacker, a borderline degenerate, and a daydream believer. He's also our resident expert on casual chic. If it's comfortable, and not heinous, he's all over it. He's quite charming, really.

We've featured David & Goliath on here before. In the past we had pretty specific things to discuss, like labeling yourself and how rape isn't funny. Today we're going to take a more general look at what David & Goliath do best: funny t-shirts.

Twelve Bar makes a lot more than t-shirts, and any of their products could easily grace the pages of Styledash in the future, but as this is the coveted "T-Shirt of the day" spot we thought it only right to stick to said tees. We're a stickler for the rules.

Want to design Moby's shirt?

As you may have noticed, we try to keep up-to-date with the latest trends in the constantly unfolding universe of t-shirts. Apparently, electronic music guru and animal rights activist Moby is a fellow t-shirt conoisseur. He's holding a contest on Threadless.com where artists can submit their designs to win $2,000, a $500 Threadless.com gift certificate, a turntable, a bunch of memorabilia.

Submissions are supposed to be inspired by Moby's new album Last Night, but that's pretty wide open. We recommend a design that relates to the Disco Lies video. There's almost nothing as visually powerful as a chicken eating Col. Sanders -- just a thought. Although it doesn't say specifically, we assume that the winning design will be sold at upcoming concerts. It will definitely be sold on Threadless and you get $500 each time your design is re-printed.

What happens when the two DJ's going at it are Captain Britain and Captain America? Sure, they agree on great sound and fighting for justice, but can they give us something to dance to?

On the scene: Use sex, get votes!

Now hipsters can use sex to sway political opinion -- just like the grown-ups! [Damn I Like That!]

Alexander McQueen is way too self-important artistic for schmoozing, celebrities, and promoting himself. So much so, that he hopes Paris Hilton won't show up at the opening of his new LA store. Zing. Kind of. [Catwalk Queen]

Mama: Spring 2008 collection

Here at Styledash, we have a hot, passionate little affair going on with cool and snug graphic tees. And some of our favorite come from Gabriella Davi-Khorasanee -- the founder of women's streetwear label Mama.

Known for her feminine and conscious designs, Gabirella has served up a whimsical line of seven nautical-inspired tees for her spring collection that come equipped with that slight bit of an edge that we've all come to expect and love from Mama. This time, the bite comes in the form of Blondie i.e., Debbie Harry.

Geek Chic: 5 places to get excellent geek chic t-shirts

As we covered last week, an ironic/kitsch t-shirt is an essential part of any geek chic ensemble. Although the line between "hipster" and "geek chic" is admittedly blurry (and for guys especially, there is tons of overlap), the best geek shirts are a little more specialized than your standard vintage logo tee. Think vintage computer software company logo tee.

Below are five of my favorite online shops to find geek chic shirts for both men and women (it is significantly harder to find great "geek chic" shirts for girls). Have a favorite geek chic t-shirt shop? Leave your suggestions in the comments!

The Stores:

Label yourself

Who are you? If you could define yourself in a word what would it be? Are you awesome (that's my label!)? Perhaps you are a geek or a jerk, or maybe you define yourself by your availability. You shouldn't, but maybe you do. What the hell do I know (other than I'm awesome!)?

The crew over at David and Goliath want to show the world what sums you up. They have a line of t-shirts that have one word or a small phrase that shares "you" with the rest of the world, or at least those whose line of sight you happen to cross.

Among the possibilities not shown below are "Booger," who was fantastic in Better Off Dead, and "Neato," which seems like a waste, why not just get the "Dork" shirt if you use the word "neato?" Also available is "Punk," which let's face it, makes you look more like Avril Lavigne than Sid Vicious.

Here are some others:

I must say, these shirts are much cooler than the last David and Goliath product featured here. I guess there was no place to go but up.

Share your views with political slippers

If you're so political that you want to make sure people know where you stand -- even while walking around in your pajamas -- then Stubbs and Wootton have the slippers for you!

Their classic design with velvet black and a black heel and sole as well, can now be embroidered in gold with either the republican or democratic party symbols -- an elephant and a donkey, respectively.

But, being outspoken is going to cost you. These slippers will set you back $395.00. Forget getting them as a Christmas gift, maybe it's better that Grandpa buys these bad boys for himself!

If you're not 95 years old and are looking for a significantly cheaper (and hipper) way to share your views with the world, Urban Outfitters has t-shirts for under $30 that are way more fun than these slippers! Browse the gallery to see if they have anything that fits your political leanings.

My personal favorite says, "Screw the war, let's dance." Because really, wouldn't the world be a better place if we all took the time to stop and smell the roses get down and boogie every once in a while?

The t-shirt layer

Crazy like a fox. It's winter. In winter, one wears lots of sweaters. How does one avoid itchiness? One wears a t-shirt under their sweater. One also benefits from the added warmth of the t-shirt layer.

This t-shirt layer is an important layer. What if you find yourself doing some heavy lifting and have to remove your sweater? You don't want to be in that pit stained Calvin Klein undershirt your ex left at your house six years ago. Awkward.

No. The t-shirt layer is a perfect excuse for secret snarkege. Wearing a funny t-shirt under your sweater is akin to wearing your A-game underwear when you don't have a date. It's just a little something special. It doesn't matter if no one sees it. It enriches your experience of the day--and isn't that what style is all about?

Where oh where should you buy snarky t-shirts? My pick is palmercash.com. They do a really good job of sorting out the best items from a whole bunch of companies, including No Star, Vintage Vantage, and one called Crooked Monkey (of which I've never heard, but they have an anti-standing in lines t-shirt I rather like except for that the way they phrased it, "I don't do lines", sounds like a drug reference). Their tees come quickly and their sizes are not weird. Bonus.
