Tip of the day: Suit up part 4, Tall

Oh those lanky, leggy girls who can wear just about anything. Yes, that means the lucky few like Whitney Port, Blake Lively, Paris Hilton, and the fierce (and seriously scary) Naomi Campbell.

We dedicate the last "Suit up" installment to those long ladies that we secretly despise for their limby... uh... ness.

Tip of the day: She's got legs and she knows how to use them!

Many of us women out there suffer during the summer because we don't have stems like a supermodel. Unfortunately, you can't think your legs long but you can create the illusion that they're a mile long with the right clothes. So let's put an end to your suffering and take a look at some helpful hints to getting Rockette worthy gams.

Learn to love bathing suit season

Not everyone loves wearing a swimsuit -- even if you feel completely confident strutting your stuff in a sexy dress, you might be a little more self-conscious in a skimpy bikini.

The thing is, when many of us think of one piece bathing suits, we think of what our grandmothers wore to the beach, complete with big flowers and flouncy skirts, but that doesn't have to be the case. There are plenty of one pieces designed to flatter your figure, provide coverage, and make you look super sleek and sexy.

Flatter Your Figure: Swimsuits for wide shoulders

Some girls are born with a delicate, slight build. Others go through life with shoulders like a linebacker. And, while broad shoulders can make shopping for tops, dresses, jackets, and bathing suits a little more frustrating, we want to take a moment to point out that strong shoulders are sexy. So, the first thing you need to do with those broad shoulders is hold them up and back. Good posture, regardless of figure flaws, is always flattering.

Now that you know that, we can discuss specific bathing suit styles. Take a look through the gallery for suggestions of what to look for and, just as importantly, what to avoid. Happy shopping!

Old Navy gets sexy with metallic swimwear

When we think of Old Navy's swimsuit selection, our minds instantly drift to preppy pink patters, flirty florals, and a few retro prints rounding it out. Imagine our surprise when we walked in and were confronted with a glamorous metallic, plunging, deep-v neck one-piece!

Cameron Diaz flaunts it on GQ cover

Airbrushed? Probably. Ultra sexy? Without a doubt. Kudos to GQ for a much needed Cameron Diaz swimsuit cover. The 35 year old actress is featured in the 2008 Hollywood Special issue, chatting with GQ about being single, boy-crazy, and her ass -- too bad it's in the UK edition.

Of course, we can't complain about the Adriana Lima cover here in the US. Maybe next month Cameron? One for the home team?

Britney Spears to design a line with Christian Audigier

Can you believe it?!? Britney Spears is going to do a fashion line. Who in the world would give this train wreck her own line?

Believe it or not, renowned designer Christian Audigier is going to be collaborating with Britney to design her own line. He also does Ed Hardy, Christian Audigier, SMET, Paco Chicano, CbarA, and Crystal Rock.

We really don't understand this -- even when she was sane she wasn't a great dresser. Let's not even talk about recent wardrobe mishaps!

Amaya SwimwearAmaya SwimwearAmaya SwimwearAmaya SwimwearAmaya Swimwear

Some of the swimwear shown by Amaya Swimwear looked like something you might pick up this summer for your neighbor's pool party -- fresh, pretty, flattering, and totally wearable.

Other pieces, however, were High Fashion Swimwear, with capes, cutouts, and details you wouldn't dare get wet -- perfect for days out on the yacht or that A-list pool party in the Hamptons. Seriously fashionable or seriously wearable, all the suits had stunning details and interesting accents.

I loved that they ran the gamut -- it almost seemed like real people could wear even this to the beach, given the proper motivation (like promise of really, really beautiful boys). And, for the most part, the models were beautiful and real; a couple looked underfed, but most of them looked healthy and comfortable in their skin. And that is a Good Thing for those of us feeling just a little nervous about beach season.

Be sure to check out the gallery of these designs and others from Rip the Runway!

Disposable swimwear: Making things easier for sleazy guys everywhere

Have you ever been at a party when some dude says, "Hey baby, wanna get in the hot tub?" You can normally turn him down with the standard excuse -- "Sorry, I didn't bring a bathing suit." You're off the hook, unless you plan on getting nekkid with him, in which case you're probably not looking for an excuse.

Well, that might not be the case anymore. Disposable swimwear is now available for just ten bucks a pop, so what's to keep creepy jacuzzi guys from pulling one out and luring you into his skanky steamy whirlpool? You know, other than your morals ...

All joking aside, this is actually a pretty cool product. If you have a beach house or pool, you'd be pretty smart to keep a few of these around for guests. Each suit lasts one to four wears (I would hate to be wearing it when it stops working, though), and the styles aren't too bad. Your guests don't have to worry about who wore a borrowed suit last, or whether it was washed sufficiently, and you look like a fabulous host! Or, a creepy hot tub guy ... whatever.

How to rock a bikini like Kim Kardashian

It's pretty much springtime, and you know what that means -- spring break is right around the corner and so is bikini season!

Kim Kardashian was recently spotting frolicking in the sun with boyfriend Reggie Bush down in the Dominican Republic, and I have to admit that while she may not be a style icon she certainly knows how to rock a bikini. I think most people don't like Kim's fashion sense mostly because she makes even the most demure outfit look absolutely obscene. Her curves are too much for the way she dresses in real life. But, beach life is another story. Kim knows how to make that hourglass figure work to her advantage.

So here are five tips on how to work a bikini like Kim K.

  • Flaunt your best assets. Kim almost always uses cute little beach wraps to hide her rear end. But she makes sure not to cover up her great flat stomach. Do you have nice legs? Buy a high cut bikini bottom to make them look even longer. Good cleavage? Get a bikini top with push up bra like powers and work it!
  • Cover up any body part you might not be comfortable with. If you're uncomfortable showing too much skin, a tankini might be the suit for you. If you don't love your legs, lots of bikini bottoms come with cute little skirts. And if you feel your badonkadonk is a little too badonky, cover it up with a stylish wrap like Kim.
  • Stay glam. It's the beach, so you don't need to go all out with your makeup. But, some big oversized sunglasses will up the level of intrigue. And leave your hair down to go for that sexy wind tousled look.
  • Go easy on the accessories. You don't want to overdo it with jewelry while you're on the beach. Especially since it's way too easy to lose a ring while you're swimming in the ocean. But you can still spruce up your look with fun totes, big hats, sandals or even just a funky patterned towel.
  • Own it! Confidence is key. The beach is your runway. Stroll the sand standing up straight, no hiding behind a towel! Keep your head up, smile and make eye contact with any cute guy you see. Then just wait for the magic to happen.
Browse through the gallery to see a few key accessories and hot bathing suits for the season!

Trend Alert: Cut-out swimsuits

Trend Alert: Cut-out Swimsuits

Sure it's the end of January and it's freezing cold outside but it's never too early to think about swimsuit season. Now is the perfect time to hit the gym and tailor your diet for your big bikini body reveal! But the reality is those cookies are just way too good to put down. The diet can be put off for another month, right? Sure it can, I won't tell...

Ease your way into bikini season with 2008's hottest piece of swimwear, a cut-out swimsuit which is a little more racy than a one-piece and not as revealing as a two-piece. The cut-out swimsuit is perfect for those who want to conceal a less-than-perfect middle or for those who want something a little different than the average swimsuit. Just beware you are pretty much guaranteed to get a really strange look tan line.
