Ah, summer time. Cookouts. Weekend afternoon parties. Long, warm evenings in friends' backyards. It's the season for sundresses, bare legs and pretty pedicures.

This adds up to a deep need for new sandals.

A sensible woman would get something neutral and comfortable, a pair you can wear anywhere, with anything.

Yeah. Well, good for them.

We want these crazy 4" 4.25" high, green, wooden wedge heels with a hole in the middle of them. They look moderately uncomfortable and totally hard to walk in. L-o-v-e at first sight.

They live at Target, and will come home with us for $19.99. At least we won't need to use rent money to pay for them, unlike the $700 peach suede Prada sandals smirking at us over at Neiman Marcus.

Each season brings a new It bag (or several, as the case may be). Some of these bags are incredibly expensive, which is fine if you can afford it, but most folks can't. Others are beautiful, but really, really trendy, so while they'll look great this season, next year you'll be sick of carrying it.

To me, the perfect It bag is the one that is at the height of fashion without looking like it's about to plummet off the edge of the style map. It's great if it's somewhat functional, and even better if it's not $1500.

Well, let me introduce you to Anabelle (pictured) by RUEHL No. 925 -- isn't she lovely? Lots of celebrities think so, including Ali Larter, Katherine Heigl, Minka Kelly, and Vanessa Hudgens. And it's not just Anabelle they're jonesing for (although I personally think it is everything that this season's It bag wants to be) -- RUEHL has loads of fantastic, high quality handbags, and they're not going to cost you a month's rent. I mean, you might not be able to get five of them, but then again, maybe you can!

Nah, the pale green isn't too Spring-y to wear this early in the year. The shoes are made of suede, and that's totally a winter material!

Dolce Vita's Celadon Suede shoes have a softly pointed toe which is okay by me (I am partial to severely pointed toes) because it matches with the softness of the suede leather and the soft, light celadon color. The heel is a wedge, which makes its 3¾" heel height more comfortable than a skinny little stiletto. The ankle strap finished the shoe off.

When it's gray, gloomy and cold, there's nothing else I'd rather do than cuddle up in a soft, warm blanket in front of the fireplace with a glass of sparkling wine and good book.

Jonathan Kelsey's Peep-toe Pumps are about the same thing in the form of shoes. Your feet can curl up in the supple suede upper that's accented with shiny gold around the peep-toe and wrapped around the 4½" heel. There's a slight platform in the front, so if it's raining outside, you might not get your toes too wet.

So you're going to have to pound a double dose of Alka Selter, suck it up, and head out. No sense in worrying about getting all dolled up. It is brunch after all, so throw on a comfortable cashmere tunic sweater, leggings, and a pair of flats. We like Gucci's simple brown suede flats with a sweet rounded toe and the Gucci logo as embellishment on the front.

For some reason, it doesn't seem to write a blog post right after a post about a dress and not have the shoes actually match the dress! Though the Guarda Pump by Report Signature is a lighter gray than the sheer gray silk of the Rory Beca Lupe Tunic, the rounded-toe and T-strap styling seem to go so well with the minidress. With such a short hemline showing that much leg, you definitely want to make the most of it with height in your shoes. The Guarda pump has a 4¾" heel with a platform in the front (so it feels like a 4" heel). It also comes in black.
