The Pope ain't wearing Prada

Alright, alright so at home hair color isn't the best way to go we admit. However, with the dollar floundering around like a fish out of water, $200+ salon trips just ain't happenin. So we've had to resort to that $10 box with high hopes that one day, just maybe one day, we'll get that at home color right.

We're bringing you another pretty little Spring dress because we happened to miss the Dress of the Day on Friday; and if there's one thing we can't tolerate, is not having enough dresses to get us through the weekend.
We all have bad skin days. Red, itchy, patchy, splotchy or blotchy, whichever way your skins rebels, the search for something soothing is also universal.
Because the red carpet of the Academy Awards is still burning in my brain, all I can see is red and maternity, though last night they weren't together. However, if you happen to be pregnant at your next red carpet event (of which I know you have so many!), Vera Wang's Jersey Gown in scarlet puts both together. In a departure from the usual silk, satin and taffeta for evening wear, the dress is made of super soft, super comfortable stretch knit jersey, is ruched at the bust and at the empire waist, which makes the dress both perfectly comfortable if you don't want to "suck it in," or if you can't (because you've got a baby bump!)
I know that after Valentine's Day, the last thing you want to see is another red dress, but I couldn't resist this gorgeous thing.
I know it's a little soon to start picking favorites, but so far The Heart Truth has been my favorite show so far. Perhaps it was the fact that the models were celebrities; I mean it was a refreshing change from typical models ... celebrity models smile, look like they have eaten more than a grape, and they had a great time out there.
Not that they should have to "market," of course, but if the American Heart Association is going to pick one month out of the year to focus on heart health, they sure did the right thing with picking February -- we've got nothing but hearts, uh, on our brains. Not only are we pounded from left, right and center with heart-shaped things, but everything is pink and red. It's quite perfect actually, because today is National Wear Red Day, in support of Go Red for Women, the American Heart Association's effort to wipe out heart disease in women.

Already thinking of Spring? I certainly am and am looking forward to the first warm (dry) day I can wear something as fresh and cute as the Buonissimo Swirl dress from Nanette Lepore. The simple sheath is made of either a red or cobalt blue swirl pattern on cotton fabric. The front looks innocent enough with a cascade of bead detail from a high round neckline down the chest, but features a large keyhole opening in the back. In the Spring, it'll be bare legs and a pair of gleaming white round toe pumps.
