Hearing the word "no," never felt so good. Last night, as I was trying to get into Paper Magazine's party featuring a performance by rap-star/fashionista Pharrell and his band NERD. Though I was personally invited by the magazine and confirmed days earlier, I was repeatedly ignored at the door. A lesser party girl might have taken this as her cue to go home, but not I. Smart move because by the end of the night I got to meet Tyler Riggs, (above) Dolce & Gabbana's next campaign model.

At some point this summer, there will be a family reunion, wedding or christening. If the good news is that kids are invited, but the bad news is the idea of an itchy, stiff dress turning your little princess into a monster, then check out Lucy Sykes New York, and all the pretty sundresses.

We're not sure if she succeeds, but we can definitely imagine them on some little girls we know, playing tag while the grown ups sip celebratory cocktails. Now that's a summer party.

We stocked up on our last trip to The Great Warehouse! Check out the great variety of colors and patterns. Also, you can't beat the quality. The heavy-weight paper is absorbent and lasts from hors d'oeuvres to dessert.

At the bargain price of $1.99 (on average), you can afford to pick up as many packs as strike your fancy. We like to keep several on hand so we can set a mod table or mix and match colors, depending on our mood.

Ikea also has several options for napkin holders, if you want to dress up your table even more. The only disappointment is that you can't order these paper products online -- just browse. Oh well, every excuse is a good excuse for a trip to Ikea!

Birthday parties, weddings, and other events call for cake. And, if you're trying to throw a stylish soiree, your cake should follow suit. Don't settle for a plain old layer cake or a simple sheet cake -- there's so much more available!
