Trend Alert: Bringing backless back

Fashion Kitty Trend Alert: Bringing Backless Back

I have scoured the web in an effort to find the best backless fashions on the market. My reasons are selfish really, I just got a tattoo in the middle of my back and I want to show it off. Selfishness aside, the backless trend really is making a comeback so you get on board and show some back.

Easier said than done huh? How do you wear backless tops and dresses without being "too free." Thankfully there a couple of options out there that we have talked about on StyleDash before:

Nippies: For the tiny-breasted gals out there who aren't necessary afraid of flopping around but are afraid of showing off their high-beams, try Nippies. Nippies are these great nipple stickers that keep those beams in control.

Backless bra: In the past backless bras have never been really backless, they always have a little something to them. Maidenform has made the first ever totally backless bra. I have to say, I am impressed and can't wait to try this thing out.

Go braless without showing off your "high beams"

Rumor has it that bras can be a little uncomfortable, meaning that -- if they thought they could get away with it -- many women would like to go braless. Awesome!

However, this liberated fashion choice presents some obvious problems. Namely, that you "walk into a cold building and bling -- all of a sudden [your] 'high beams' are on blast for the world to see." Not exactly a best case scenario if you're a woman who prides herself on being discrete.

Fortunately for all of us, the solution may be here -- "Nippies." Made by Bristols6, these look more or less like the "pasties" that burlesque troupes wear so they're not pulling Janet Jacksons every time they perform. However, they come in a variety of styles for the everyday woman -- including stars, butterflies, and just about anything else you can think of.

Says Chanel at Hip Candy: "Kept me perfectly closed in when I wore them recently with a slightly plunging neckline. And believe me, I shook and shimmied to put 'em to the test."

With any luck, you'll never have to wear a bra again.

Nippies, the patch of freedom

nippies patch of freedomWe've talked about little things that we use here and there to help with a temporary nip or tuck - fashion tape to keep necklines in place, regular old double-sided tape for the same idea, and breast petals from Lauren Silva. I've come across another brand similar to breast petals called Nippies, which is company based out of Venice, California. Nippies are called the "patch of freedom" because they allow you to wear 1) all those tops that would otherwise expose straps, or 2) any top when you just want to go au naturel. Nippies will be especially helpful this Holiday season when you want to slip into that slinky cocktail dress.

Nippies are availble online from their website at www.nippies.net. They come in different shapes, sizes, and "patterns."
