Will Justin Timberlake bring back the Speedo? He hopes not

Ladies, in case you haven't heard, there's at least one reason to see the new Love Guru movie: JT is in it, and he's wearing a Speedo! While the film may otherwise look completely awful, at least you'll have something to focus on in between shots of Mike Myers pulling faces and making stupid jokes.

Timberlake talks about this foray into revealing men's swimwear in the above interview. Turns out he wasn't very comfortable showing so much skin, and is hoping that this little stunt won't bring skimpy swimming trunks back into fashion.

HOT!Um, grossVery hot!Heinous!Pretty damned attractive

We couldn't agree more. No one wants to see the outline of your manly bits on a nice day at the beach.

But maybe we're wrong? If you've got it...should you flaunt it?

Should Speedos make a comeback?

Designers come out to watch Madonna

Last week, Madonna finally dropped her album Hard Candy and every able-bodied New Yorker came out to the Roseland in Manhattan to watch the diva perform her hot new dance tracks.

Decked out in head-to-toe Dolce & Gabbana athletic gear, Madge performed her hit "4 minutes on stage with Justin Timberlake" while a slew of CFDA babes like Donna Karan, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler, Harvey Weinstein, Lyor Cohen, Tory Burch and Rosie O'Donnell danced along.

Meanwhile, right after her live performance, Madonna slipped on a Ralph Lauren frock and headed over to friend/photographer Steven Klein's birthday party at The Box where waiters walked around in Dolce & Gabbana underwear all night.

And who said you were suppose to start slowing down at 50?

Masked Olsen twins attend their stylist's wedding

The Olsen twins didn't want to ruin their stylist, Estee Stanley's wedding by attracting too much attention from the paparazzi, so they did what anyone trying to look inconspicuous would do -- they put on Carver Masks (thank you Nip/Tuck for providing us with two straight seasons of Carver nightmares).

Behind the scenes: Madonna and Elle

In case you've been living under a rock, Madonna has a new album coming out on April 29 called Hard Candy. Her first single off the album 4 minutes featuring Justin Timberlake has helped the icon to surpass Elvis Presley with the most Top 10 singles -- making 4 minutes her 37th top 10 hit.

Gnarls Barkley video banned, for being awesome

The video for Gnarls Barkley's new single "Run" is so cool looking, it causes seizures -- literally. Apparently, MTV has announced that it won't air the video because it flunked the Harding Test, a set of guidelines set up to protect epileptic viewers from images that might trigger an incident. That's how trippy it is.

It's really too bad that the video is being held up by the strobing psychedelia, because it features a lot of great fashion nostalgia. Looks like director Chris Milk thought that a full-on 90's revival was the best way to compliment the track, yet all the looks fit together with the comeback of bright synthetic fabrics that's going on -- a very savvy choice by the video's costume designer.

Justin Timberlake makes a cameo as a geeky VJ, decked out in full on 90's style with an Eddie Murphy jacket and glasses. The video takes place on the set of a fictitious TV show, sorta like a Soul Train, but on a 60's soundstage. I see funky fresh parachute pants, bright colors and nylon -- I get excited thinking about 90's nostalgia.

Justin Timberlake says he's sexier than George Clooney and Brad Pitt

The gloves are officially off. Now that he's kind of the king of pop, Justin Timberlake is tired of playing second (or third) fiddle to the perennial "Hottest Man in the World" front runners, George Clooney and Brad Pitt.

So what sparked this oddly catty little spat between the world's most attractive guys? Timberlake was recently crowned King of Sex by Rolling Stone magazine, and in a subsequent interview with Barbara Walters, said: "Brad, George, you guys may be on the most beautiful whatever but uh...eat your heart out boys."

Sure, Justin is a stylish guy -- in fact, now that he's dressing his age, I'd go so far as to call him one of the most fashionable men in the public eye. But better looking than Brad Pitt and George Clooney? Them's fightin' words, Justin.

Who do you find most attractive?

Justin Timberlake's new fashion line is for ladies only

At first, the thought of a Justin Timberlake-inspired fashion line might make your squeamish. After all, if the clothing is anything like his music, it'll be irritating, repetitive, and full of enough faux macho energy to fill an arena football locker room.

However, this time, the star won't be producing clothing for guys. Unlike the surprisingly stylish William Rast label Timberlake launched last year, this new endeavor (with designer J. Lindeberg) is going to be sporty, casual -- and just for the ladies.

As with most celebrity "collaborations," I'm sure Timberlake will be involved in the creation of this line more or less in name only. And in all honesty, this is probably a good thing. Even if the singer does have a hidden talent for fashion design, J. Lindeberg's collection is fairly strong already -- so Timberlake or no Timberlake, keep an eye on this line, as it certainly has potential.

Styles that Stick: the Canadian Tuxedo

Remember 2001?

The world sure was a different place back then, wasn't it? Different problems, different music, different international diplomatic strategies, different minimum wage -- I could go on and on, but I won't.

What I'm here to talk about is what hasn't changed since 2001: the baffling popularity of the Canadian Tuxedo. (See exhibit a)

Also known as the denim suit and the JOJO (Jean-on-Jean-Offense), the Canadian Tuxedo crops up every year, usually in the fall, when the temperatures are ideal for jeans paired with jean jackets.

I once had a former boss-lady editor who rocked the Canadian Tuxedo with some regularity, so I've given some thought to both the pros and the cons of wearing head-to-toe denim. Here's what I've come up with:

Pros: lots of cotton; lots of pockets; moderately wind resistant; denim hides dirt; denim matches everything.

Cons: uh, you look stupid.

I know It sounds reductive, but let's consider the case of Justin Timberlake.

Back in 2001, Justin was B-list celebrity. He was in the boy band NSYNC; he looked like a overgrown eight-year-old with creepy facial hair; he dated Britney Spears. Most importantly, he wore the Canadian Tuxedo to the 2001 American Music Awards. (See exhibit b)

These days JT is one of the best-dressed celebrities. He's also an awarding winning musician and performer. He's dating Jessica Biel. He even has his own clothing company; but most importantly -- he wouldn't be caught dead wearing Canadian Tuxedo. (See exhibit c)

A simple coincidence? I think not.

Who's Madonna's mustachioed friend in the kitten heels?

Eugene and MadonnaMadonna was recently spotted out and about with her usual entourage, but for once, all eyes were not on her. This PopSugar article talked about Madonna's upcoming work with Justin Timberlake and included this photo. However, a quick look at the comments shows that everyone's more interested in the fellow next to Madge, sporting a super mustache and equally fierce kitten heels.

The gentleman is actually Eugene Hutz, frontman of New York band Gogol Bordello and Elijah Wood's co-star in Everything is Illuminated. Hutz is known for his mighty mustache and quirky sense of style, but I swear this is the first time I've seen him wear heels. I guess he's jumping on board the "men in heels" fad? He's filming some stuff for Madonna's short film, Filth and Wisdom, so maybe the heels are, like, training for the role or something.

Top 5 StyleFouls at the Grammys, with Sarah's StyleFixes

grammy awards 2007 - stylefoul top five
StyleFoul: Mandy Moore looked like she rolled out of bed after a hard night of partying. Literally. Did the singer take the floral bedsheet of her bed, wrap it around her, and affix it to her body with a belt?
StyleFix: Go to bed earlier, Mandy. Wake up earlier. Take a shower. Find a real dress.

StyleFoul: Justin Timberlake in a silver suit that looks like he borrowed it from his father's closet. Or maybe from the Goodwill pile.
StyleFix: The man is a fashion designer now. Doesn't he have access to a sewing machine somewhere?

StyleFoul: Hillary Duff - Wild, bedhead hair colored way too dark to match what a too-small shiny Dolce & Gabbana dress. The dress looks like a nightie.
StyleFix: The adorable pop actress/singer should have kept her hair a lighter, natural color. Everything else wouldn't have looked so cheap.

StyleFoul: The Pussycat Dolls. All of them. Enough said.
StyleFix: We're not sure how we could fix these ladies.

StyleFoul: John Mayer very adorably paired a pair of Nikes with his tux -- we don't consider that a StyleFoul at all. But his bowtie was way too small.
StyleFix: He could have used the bow as a barette for his hair, and worn a regular sized bow tie.
