The moment we've all been waiting for has arrived...wait, what? Was anybody actually excited about the launch of Paris Hilton's shoe line? I guess for girls that have larger feet this line might be a plus. Since Paris supposedly wears size 11, her line is available in higher sizes.
The shoes from her collection really aren't anything groundbreaking. Are celebrity lines ever more than we hope for? No, I'm pretty much let down every time I check out the expensive products that celebs stamp their names on. Paris Hilton is no exception.

How many of you have put together a fierce outfit for a night out on the town, complete with sexy shoes, only to find that you're going somewhere without valet (gasp!)? And then you've not only had to walk your hot little self several blocks to your location, but walk back, or possibly somewhere else in the meantime?
I remember one particular night out in a major city wearing boots. I'd been wearing them all day, but apparently they had a 10 hour time limit on them or something, because by the time I left the club, I was ready to cut my feet off with a dull knife because they hurt soooo bad.
Now, had I had some semi-fashionable origami emergency shoes stashed in my handbag, I would've been a lot happier. As Fashiontribes points out, they aren't quite for the mainstream (yet), but it's a fantastic idea, and I know I'll be on the lookout for shoes like these to be available.
When shopping is a sport: Sprinting in stilettos
I wish I had been there, if not to actually race and possibly win a cash prize, then just to watch the spectacle.
In Amsterdam last week, 150 young women raced down the city's most famed fashion street, PC Hooft, in order to win a $15,000 prize. A race with a fairly decent-sized cash prize...so what? They were wearing stiletto heels in a competition that has the motto of "Shopping is a sport." The minimum height requirement on heels is 3½ inches.
I'd actually just like to know which shoes had heels that were strong enough to withstand the pounding on the pavement. I want them.
