This sweater dress is about as easy as it gets - just slip it on and go. It's a great piece for early fall, because you can start out wearing without tights (picture after the jump) and then pile on the leggings and accessories as the weather cools. We love it cinched at the waist with a belt because it helps the dress show off your shape.

I love soft, neutral colors. I love 100% silk with satin banding. I love the comfort and ease of a wide, open neckline that doesn't choke and short, ruffled sleeves that don't get in my way. I love no waistline. I love minidresses that can go from daytime in the office to early evening at that cute bistro on the corner.
The morning's are cold. The afternoons are warm. Heck, truth be told, the way the weather keeps flip flopping on us from day to day, we can't figure out if we should dress for January or June.
So you weren't quite ready to jump forward into 2008, were you? Take more than a few steps back in time with the Sabrina Dress from ModCloth. The vintage-style dress is made of a thickly woven tweed with a metallic sheen in a palette of shades of gray. The scoop neck is lined with contrasting black grosgrain, and has flattering darts just above the bust. WIth a swing-y coat and a pair of black rubber rain boots, the Sabrina works well for January, and can take you straight into Spring when you switch your shoes to black patent heels with a sweet rounded-toe.

We're barely through Fall and we're already tired of cashmere sweater dresses.
Sometimes, simple isn't just easier, it's truly better, like Joie's Bardot dress in gunmetal gray. The knit minidress is nothing more than a simple line with a wide scoop neckline with tiny gathering and long sleeves with an elasticized cuff to create a subtle puff at the wrists. Because the dress is so simple, accessorizing it easy because you can basically do anything. Keeping the entire look simple with nothing more than a pair of black tights with a hint of shimmer and knee-high boots is our choice.
Thought floral prints were only for Spring and Summer?
What a perfect little dress to make that transition into fall.
While summer never seems to end here in LA, there is a transition period from hot to fall everywhere else. It makes shopping for new clothes difficult. You can't buy true "fall" clothes or you'll end up sweating on those Indian summer days. You can't stock up at the summer sales because you'll be shivering in that little white eyelet babydoll when it's 55 degrees outside in the morning.
They may be telling you the Summer is coming to a close. They may be heralding the coming of Fall and Winter.
