In honor of International Women's Day last Saturday, Diane von Furstenberg has partnered with Vital Voices for the Women Can Campaign, an initiative with the goal of empowering female leaders in developing countries. This week (through Saturday), she is donating 10% of sales at her freestanding stores and at her website to Vital Voices.Continue reading Win a trip for 2 to NYC and a $5000 DVF shopping spree!

If you purchased a dress that looks like this from a Target store recently, hold on to it -- you might be wearing evidence from an upcoming court battle. In a complaint filed in Manhattan last Thursday, Diane von Furstenberg's studio decided to get legal with the big box retailer over a dress that too closely resembled her distinctive "spotted frog" design.
Whenever I think of tie-dyed garments the first thing that comes to mind is 'summer camp' -- not going to summer camp (I was far too cool for that) but actually teaching summer camp. Working with dozens of children assisting them in creating a garment that was destined to be a disaster. Deep down I think the kids knew that their tie-dyed creations were a disaster too because they were seldom worn outside of campgrounds.
The woman who 'wrapped' us in one of the most spectacular dresses of all time (the wrap dress) is now going to be dressing our feet. That's right, Diane von Furstenberg is stepping into new territory by designing footwear.
"Gorgeous."
I often say that green is not really "my color." I could probably wear a green because any color comes in a wide range of shades and hues that will flatter anyone; I'm just not that fond of the color in anything but nature and money.
It's March 1, y'all, and while we're a few weeks away from the official first day of Spring, let's call it close enough to go full force with new Spring clothes!
As much as I love Diane von Furstenberg's ladyhawk-style dresses, I try not to gush over them too much because I wouldn't want to bore you all to death with a wrap dress every day.
Like ShopBop says, "We've yet to find a piece by DVF that we don't love."
What a gorgeous dress from Diane von Furstenberg (not that any dress from her is ever bad). The Vastago Shirtdress shows you that you can wear light colors right into fall. The dress, which also comes in black for those of us who limit ourselves to earth tones and black in autumn, is a crisp, collared shirtdress that shows its feminine side in a slightly puffed shoulder. The sleeves are rolled and have a button-tab, and there is a tie at the waist.
I am head over heels for this dress, and not just because it comes from Diane von Furstenberg, and not just because I am having a momentary obsession with tuxedoes. This dress takes the classic stylings of men's formal wear and makes it 100% sexy, without making it the least bit revealing. How does DvF do that?!?!
How can anyone not love the woman who created the dress that any woman can wear, and look utterly fabulous? Diane von Furstenberg's Spring 2007 collection was a wardrobe full of dresses for every taste. The shapes went from boxy smocks to Aphrodite-esque evening dresses, from button-down shirtdresses to her signature wrapdress. Some of the solid colors were a little too bold and bright for my taste, as if they came right out of an elementary Crayola box -- neon fuschia, canary yellow, and kelly green. However, as part of prints, they were fine. I really liked the simple shape of the all-white dress with casual little pockets at the hips (which we also saw in black and green). Though the collection was called "too eager to please," I thought it was just easy to like -- with the exception of a white dress slapped with a gigantic ladybug, of course.
Though I hate the word "babydoll," and would much prefer calling it a short, empire-waisted, flirty-skirted dress, that's just too long and difficult when it's the easiest thing to wear in the summer time. It's short so it's a little flirtatious, and with the empire-waist and lots of draped fabric, you can finally breathe. Save the sucking in for the bikini.
Over at Bluefly, they've got babydolls up the yin yang, but here's the one I love, and since it is Bluefly, it won't drain you of your Mystic tan funds:
From the queen of dresses, Diane Von Furstenburg's "Pomdor" in aqua green sort-of-leopard print. And what's hot about this dress? The straps are removable. So, you can wear it with the straps as you're blazing through the mall, then just ditch the straps in the car as you head out to dinner. Sexy. And just think, since it's basically two dresses in one, that $219 doesn't seem bad at all.
