Tips on how to wear a mini

The super mini length is a hot look for this summer. But, anything too short is on the daring side for a lot of us and can be hard to pull off. So, Net-A-Porter came through with a few tips.

Tip of the day: Tiered skirts

Zac Posen
Let's play a little game. When we say "tiered skirt", what's the first thing that comes to mind? Hippies? Flower power? Prairies? We're about to erase that perception from your mind. No, not by our mind boggling Tom Cruise like super powers (you wish!). It's far simpler than that. We're going to introduce you to the flirty skirts present at the Luella, Givenchy, and Zac Posen spring/summer 2008 runways.

Flatter Your Figure: Lengthen short legs

If you have short legs, there are a number of things you can do to make them look longer, none of which include hanging by your ankles to stretch them out. The way you dress can make a dramatic difference in the way your legs look.

While wearing a monochromatic leg (pants or skirt, socks or tights, and shoes all in a similar color) is certainly elongating, it's not always practical. Are you going to wear red tights with a cute red sundress in the middle of summer? No way! We've got a few tricks you can employ this summer to make the most of what you've got, as well as a few things we strongly suggest you stay away from. Check out the gallery to learn more!

Perez Hilton to sell fashion line at Hot Topic

Perez Hilton's celebrity gossip website is a guilty pleasure for millions of people around the world. But he's downright nasty to celebrities, making cruel comments on their weight, their fashion choices, their sexuality and more. We feel dirty all over when we read his site, don't you? (And you know what? He sure doesn't have much room to complain about others, given his countless red carpet disasters!)

Now just imagine how dirty you'd feel if you wore his clothes too! Mario Lavandeira is coming out with his own Perez Hilton fashion line.

Death to Argyle: Hip clothes for the golf course

Dear Argyle,

We still love you. We enjoy you on our feet and also in a light sweater. We have nothing but respect for you and your timeless style. Please do not be offended by the following review.

Yours,
Styledash

Mark Twain said, "Golf is a good walk spoiled," and he may have been on to something, especially if the club he was playing at had a strict dress code. Especially if he was a woman.

SlickSugar for the knee-high rock crowd

SlickSugar began as a way for two friends, both of them mothers, to find an outlet where they could express their creative sides and include their children in the process.

They decided on a clothing line with the goal of creating "items that will inspire children to pick up an instrument, sing in the car or dance down the stairs." Needless to say, music is the common thread between the designs.

Wild Dill for the wild child

Wild Dill was created by Jennifer who signs her bio "Wife and Mother of Wild Men." We love that. She created Wild Dill to reflect the "sense of curiosity and wonder for everything that is natural and wild." They "carry only natural, organic, fair trade, made in the USA/Europe, or recycled clothing, toys, bedding and furniture for babies and toddlers."

All of it is wonderful. See for yourself:

How well-dressed dogs stay dry in April showers

If you have a dog, you know that, no matter how rotten the weather, dogs need to go outside. Their need to "do their business" can't be put on hold because you don't want to get wet.

Fortunately, you can get a cute raincoat or umbrella and hit the sloppy streets in style. But what about your pooch?

Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester wants her own line

Gossip Girls fashion is to teenage girls what Sex and the City was/is to women in their 20's and 30's. It's the be all, end all of style. The whole premise of the show is to make you envy their exciting lives and their wardrobes. So it's really not a shocker at all that one of the stars, Leighton Meester wants to make the big move and design her own line.

Kimora Lee Simmons line to be sold exclusively at JC Penney

Kimora Lee Simmons is going to be debuting her line exclusively at JC Penney this month. For such a diva, we're a little surprised that she would agree to sell her clothes at a store that's not necessarily considered high end. But maybe she's realized that there's a whole market outside couture that she hasn't yet tapped into.

Britney's How I Met Your Mother wardrobe up for sale

Everything about Britney is for sale. Her private life is bought for top dollar by the tabloids from those closest to her. The family, desperate for money is pawning off her jewelry and cars. And word on the street is that Brit's How I Met Your Mother wardrobe is going to be auctioned off as well.

This is a little different though. The 6 items that are for sale are being auctioned to benefit the environmental organization, the Natural Resources Defense Council.

Tonight's How I Met Your Mother episode features Britney as a flirty receptionist. As soon as the episode is over the auction begins. Among the items up for grabs are a navy print Juicy Couture dress, a yellow Nannette Lepore dress and a cream Nannette Lepore cardigan with blue flower details.

Good thing the clothes being auctioned off are from the show, picked out by a wardrobe stylist. I don't think anyone would actually buy clothes this fashion train wreck wears in real life.

Analyzing Hilary Clinton's style

At Styledash we tend to keep things light. We talk style and not politics. But, sometimes the two worlds collide. When they're even talking about how bad Hilary Clinton's clothes are all the way over in the U.K., it's time that Styledash took notice too.

Sure, her style is a little conservative. I can understand that -- she's got a base of voters that she wants to cater to. But conservative doesn't necessarily have to mean masculine. Remember cleavage-gate? When Hilary showed just the slightest hint of cleavage, the world freaked out. Since then she's worn nothing but full coverage suits.

Does it really matter what Hilary wears?

Be a stylish Irish (or wannabe) on March 17

It isn't always easy being green (as evidenced by the model to the right), but St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner, so you'd better check your closet now and see what you have to wear. Go ahead. I'll wait.

Nothing, you say? Nothing green at all! Oh, dear!

Well, don't sweat it. Even if green isn't your color, you have to wear something in that hue on March 17, and I've got looks for ladies and fellas and even a few little tykes. As long as you've followed our rules, these items should work well for you. The main thing that I must stress is this: If you wouldn't wear it on any other day, don't wear it for the holiday. If you hate green and never wear it, don't go out in a green dress. Instead, find some accessories, like jewelry or a scarf in your hair, that will ward off the pinchies without sacrificing your personal style.

But please, unless you actually are Irish (and, even if you are), avoid the "Kiss Me, I'm Irish" tees unless you find something incredibly clever. It's just so cliche.
