Spotted at NY men's fashion market: Robert Burke

We ran into Robert Burke, a familiar face from the front row, just outside the men's room at a trade show, Blue, this week. The former senior VP at Bergdorf Goodman currently oversees his own, big time consulting company but still manages a type of effortless style.
He's got a summer weight, two-piece suit and skips on a tie to beat the heat. Then, add those signature glasses for a touch of whimsy and a tad of intellectualism. The look is totally soft and approachable, classic and tailored but still relaxed and refined. We're digging what Mr. Burke puts together. Anyone else?

Never in a million years did we think we would ever wear something from Tommy Bahama, a brand that we have historically associated with 55 year old wealthy retired men in Orange County whose favorite past time is deep sea fishing (don't ask us how we built that image in our heads - we just did).

Just in case you weren't satisfied with the wide array of color contacts out there, either because you don't feel like they look natural or because of those silly instructions telling you to take them out once in a while, you'll be glad to know that you might have an option.
I love the look of large tropical or floral prints on over-sized dresses, but sometimes I'm afraid of looking like Mrs. Roeper in a muu muu. There's a way to get around that, of course, by shortening the hem, updating the shape, and adding a few details, like a simple (and super inexpensive) dress from Delia's.
This week, some of us are travelling, but even when we're "on vacation," we're not really on vacation because 1) heading off to different climates means we get to wear a whole new wardrobe, 2) packing is a major style activity and 3) checking out style in different cities is always educational.
Is it just me or dis it feel like a sauna on the equator of Hell yesterday? Yes, it was hot, humid, and I was cranky as you-don't-want-to-know.
Feeling a little modest? Don't like to show too much leg?
Yesterday I happened to catch this surprising post-rehab photograph of Britney Spears over at
It's casual, but luxurious, because that's what you're all about on a Sunday morning, right?
