Lauren Conrad wants to hook up your feet

We're aren't sure whether is was before or after enrolling in the fake fashion design school that she attends every week on MTV's hit reality how The Hills, but somewhere in between taping episodes Lauren Conrad began to fancy herself as a real-life bonafide designer.

White House dinner not "A-listy" enough for Heidi Montag

You know when you get invited to a lame party by someone and you feel totally obligated to go -- so you make up some excuse about being busy, or sick, or mourning a dead relative? This is totally like that, only with Heidi Montag and the President of the United States.

Somehow the Hills "reality" TV star made it on the list for the White House Correspondents dinner. But is she going? Hell no! Not unless she can get expenses paid for her creepy-looking boyfriend/manager, Spencer Pratt.

On the scene: Just in case you didn't believe the 90s were back...

-As proof the 90s have returned, check out this video by Tilly and the Wall -- the Nebraska-spawned indie-pop outfit adored by hipster types everywhere. [via fashionindie]

-Alicia Douval, some British "model" famous for getting it on with celebrities and then telling the tabloids, is really proud of her 12-year-old daughter. Not because the tween made her junior high soccer team, scored an A in algebra, or got a bunch of Girl Scout brownie points -- but because she wants a "boob job" (so she can be famous like Britney Spears!). While she admires her daughter's enthusiasm, Alicia thinks it's best to wait until she's older. You know, like 16. [Sun]

The Hills wardrobe

Whether you love The Hills or you hate it, come Tuesday morning everyone's always talking about the show -- the fights, the hook ups and most importantly, the wardrobe!

We love Lauren "LC," Conrad's classy style. She always keeps things simple, yet modern. Last night we adored her in a plain gray vest over a black tank top paired with skinny jeans. It was nothing Earth shattering, but she still looked great!

And not only did LC dress to impress, but she walked the walk. Kelly at People's Revolution loved Lauren so much that she scored herself a new job. Although, I can't help but wonder if that's real, or if MTV hooked it up.

Lauren Conrad: What would you ask her?

Darren Goldstein/MTV CanadaLauren Conrad may be a busy, busy fashionista bee, showing off her latest collection, but our friends over at StyleList have managed to get LC to find time in her hectic schedule to answer some questions. Lucky for you all, the readers from StyleList and Styledash will be doing the asking. Yes, that endorphin rush you just felt is the sweet taste of power. So, do you have any burning fashion questions for LC? I know you do. Make yourself heard in the comments!

If you're seeking some fashion question inspiration because all you can think about is The Hills, take a look at some of our previous fashion coverage of LC. Is there something about her collection that you've been dying to find out? Do you envy her mad make-up skills? Or maybe you just want to ask her where she got those shoes.

Deadline for questions is April 7th, so hit the comments and start asking!

Audrina Patridge has a checkered past

She was young, she was dumb, and she's so much smarter about the world now that she's 22, but it seems that right after high school, the star of MTV's The Hills was featured in some not-so-tasteful photography. Naughty pics of Patridge surfaced on the internet sometime last night, leading to the revelation that the show's most edgy actress isn't Lauren Conrad -- who is rumored to have a sex tape floating around out there -- but Audrina instead.

The photos were initially taken as part of a plan to get her foot in the door at Playboy, but she was denied. WWTDD has a few up that you can check out. In some, she's dressed up as Catholic school girl -- others as an undressed Catholic school girl. Here's what Patridge had to say about it:
"I took these photos years ago when I was just out of high school and beginning to model. I was young and very trusting of others and I didn't know to protect myself. It is a lesson learned, for myself, and hopefully for the young girls who look up to me."
So, let that be a lesson to any of you who are looking to start a modeling career right out of high school. Nude pics aren't good for anything except drawing attention to yourself and getting cast on a MTV drama. Frankly, that's all they have to offer -- a dead end for sure.

"The Hills" star Whitney Port creates clothing line

Another day. Another celebrity clothing line.

Just days after Lauren Conrad debuted her rather weak spring collection at LA Fashion Week, here comes word that yet another cast member from "The Hills" will be trying their hand in fashion.

Today, WWD reports, that LC's reality television co-hort Whitney Port will be launching her own clothing line called Eve & A this fall. The 15-piece collection will consist of convertible dresses, tops and jackets that will wholesale for $40 to $250.

Although Port didn't pretend to learn attend the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising like Conrad, Port's father Jeff owns the apparel company Swarm, which manufactures the young men's line Shades of Gray. The company will also be backing Whitney's line. Everyone: Awwwww

The Eve & A collection will be debuting in the Movement showroom today at the Los Angeles market. But don't fret people. You'll be able to catch a sneak preview before next fall: The looks are said to be appropriate enough for Whitney "to don at her next gig as an intern at the public relations firm People's Revolution."

The new season of "The Hills" airs March 24.

Heidi Montag's line for Anchor Blue debuts soon

Quick, when I say celebrity fashion, which names pop to mind? Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, for sure, maybe Mischa Barton...and...Heidi Montag?!? Didn't think so. I had originally thought that Heidi's only claim to fashion fame is that her ex-roommate Lauren Conrad, with whom she is currently feuding and hasn't spoken to in months -- or so MTV wants us to think -- is in fashion school. But, apparently Heidi actually once spent a year studying apparel design. Who knew? I'm a little rusty when it comes to The Hills trivia.

Anyways, back in November, Anchor Blue announced that they were going to let Heidi loose to create her own line that will be sold in their stores across the U.S. Heidi's line is named -- get ready for this -- Heidiwood. The launch is coming up soon, April 1st, in case you want to start a countdown.

Anchor Blue's plan is to use Miss Montag in order to appeal to an older demographic. And by older I mean, women (girls?) aged 16-21 rather than the 14-18 year olds that they currently cater to. Heidiwood will have pieces ranging in price from $10-$60 dollars and will be made up of creative gems such as "colorful tank tops, signature T-shirts, black shorts, white jean shirts," and more.

What do you think about this? Does Heidi really care about becoming a designer or is the line just another way to compete with rival, LC? And here's an even more important question. Which would you be less embarrassed to buy, a Lauren Conrad shirt or a Heidi Montag shirt? Since I'm definitely not in the target demographic, I shouldn't even talk about buying their clothes and I should probably just be flat out embarrassed that I watch The Hills and even know who these girls are!

What do you think, does this girl deserve her own line?

Lauren's Look for Less: Lauren Conrad

lauren conrad the hillsIt's hard to admit but, yes, I watch The Hills.

Lauren Conrad and the gang always have on nice clothes that you know darn well they couldn't afford if the show were actually "reality" (Teen Vogue interns can't get paid that well). The girls are paid mega bucks to live their loosely scripted lives and designers are practically begging them to wear their clothes.

For those of us who aren't as fortunate as the ladies on The Hills, let's do Lauren Conrad's look for less. The secret to this looks is "working it" with confidence and perfect makeup. The outfit isn't very complex because it's just basic black with gold accessories. Just beware, matching blacks can be tricky so be sure your black garments are all the same shade of black.
Grand total, $158.10

Well-played, Lauren Conrad

If you're old enough to vote, then you don't watch the MTV series The Hills. Unless you're me, in which case you do.

People ask me why I like the show. Usually I try to pass it off as some anthropological interest in the youth culture of Southern California, but that has nothing to do with it.

I like The Hills because I like Lauren Conrad. Yeah, she's spoiled, and she doesn't have a clue, but so what? I like her clothes -- especially the outfit she wore to the Teen Choice Awards.

The Teen Choice Awards might be a low-budget pony version of the Oscars, so the fact that Lauren was able look age-appropriate without rocking some awful disgruntled adolescent angst outfit (yes, I mean you, Avril Lavigne) makes me admire her taste all the more.

So well played, Ms. Conrad. You might have terrible taste in boys and bad luck with friends, but you sure can come correct.

For the record, Lauren's the one on the right. Audrina, her floozy roommate is in the shiny frock on the left. God help that girl....
