Once the territory of only the most hardcore punks, black nails became very mainstream for a few years. The trend is now receding, but you'll continue to see it on skater chicks like Avril Lavigne. If you love the classic, serious look, then black is your color of choice, skip the glitter and funny tips. You can find black nail polish almost anywhere these days, but for on-the-run rockers the Sally Hansen quick dry nail pen in black is convenient and inexpensive. We're getting addicted to the Stylelist how-to slide shows. Today our sister site is showcasing a slew of easy to use make-up items and there are a couple of killer finds in there.

At first we felt a little, well, superior. After all, we have mad make-up skillz, earned through years of clown faced experiments. And the first item in the gallery was that Sally Hansen nail pen we posted about a month ago. Um, yawn.

But then we were very pleasantly surprised by the rest of the products. Not just easy to use, they are also cool!
