Eva Mendes seems to be everywhere lately, and almost always naked. We aren't complaining.

The above video (assuming that YouTube hasn't pulled it for boob-related reasons) is an ad for Calvin Klein's latest fragrance for women, Secret Obsession. It was banned from television due to some finding it a bit steamy- and nipply.

Eva Mendes CK fragrance ads too hot for TV

It was just a couple weeks ago that recently-rehabbed actress Eva Mendes appeared in Vogue Germany -- for the most part without her clothes. And now, word 'round the Internet is that the star's latest ad campaign is similarly scandalous.

The TV spots are for a new Calvin Klein fragrance called Secret Obsession, and apparently clearly show Eva "having illicit thoughts." So illicit, in fact, that they're making network TV sensors very uncomfortable -- which means the ads will likely never see the light of day.

Seems like there's a new celebrity trend afoot: going topless for Vogue! Just last week word broke that Eva Mendes would be appearing semi-clothed (and weird looking) in this month's Vogue Italia, and today we learn that Claudia Schiffer will be baring all (or at least most) for Vogue Germany.

Not that posing sans-clothing is anything new for celebrities, but the recent rash of nudie portraits for Vogue in particular has us wondering: is naked the new black? How long before we see C-List celebs trying to keep up by taking it off for lesser known mags? Can we expect to see Courtney Love or Britney Spears reviving their fledgling careers by posing for Mirabella?

Let's hope not. Fingers crossed, this mysterious new trend will die out before it jumps the shark.

Eva mendes covers Vogue Italia

It's official. Hollywood has taken over the fashion industry.

Evidence? After leaving rehab a couple of months ago, actress Eva Mendes scooped up some free cashmere sweaters from Calvin Klein and an additional contract with the brand to model its intimates.

And now the beautiful lady has landed on the cover of what some consider to be the fashion bible, Vogue.

After snapping the 34-year-old Cuban-American for Calvin's perfume and underwear ads earlier this year, which will make their debut in fall fashion mags, famed photographer Steven Meisel asked Mendes to pose for the May cover of Italian Vogue.

Eva Mendes is the new face for Calvin Klein

Calvin Klein Underwear has just announced that Eva Mendes will be the face of their new campaign. She already does their fragrance so the company thought she'd also be a natural fit for their underwear.

Most people wondered if Eva's tumultuous last couple of months (in and out of rehab for drug abuse, plus a rumored miscarriage) would be an issue for Calvin Klein. But, when asked if Eva's rehab stint affected their decision, president and COO, Tom Murry, said, "No, it has not. We were already in one [fragrance] campaign when it [rehab] occurred and it did not affect our decision-making for the underwear campaign."

I can't say I'm surprised by that. These days you're nobody in Hollywood until you've been in and out of rehab multiple times in one year. Getting into problems only seems to make celebrities' stars shine brighter.

Murry also talked about why the company decided on Eva. He said, "She really embodies the essence of the Calvin Klein brand and we look forward to seeing that carried through in the creative. We are trying to get across that these new products are for fuller busted, shaplier kinds of women and when we looked at the talent, Eva was right."

Oh dear, here we go again calling any woman over a size zero "shapely." Well, size debate aside, I think most men will be happy to see Ms. Mendes in her skivvies for Calvin Klein. Browse through the gallery and then tell me you don't think this hot chica will make a great underwear model!
