Cameron Diaz flaunts it on GQ cover

Airbrushed? Probably. Ultra sexy? Without a doubt. Kudos to GQ for a much needed Cameron Diaz swimsuit cover. The 35 year old actress is featured in the 2008 Hollywood Special issue, chatting with GQ about being single, boy-crazy, and her ass -- too bad it's in the UK edition.

Of course, we can't complain about the Adriana Lima cover here in the US. Maybe next month Cameron? One for the home team?

Move over Uggs, it's Emu time

emu boots and cameron diaz
Watch out Uggs because EMU is the newest and hottest piece of footwear to keep your feet warm this winter. Celebrities have already started to catch onto this piece of cold-weather gear; Cameron Diaz has been spotted in a pair.

Just like Uggs, these boots are made of sheepskin and Merino wool. This combination keeps your feet warm in the winter and cool in the summer, so you can wear these bad boys year round.

I picked up a pair in black last week and I am having trouble taking them off (because I love them so much). The boots come in black, brown, tan, and red. They tend to run a bit on the big side, so make sure you order a size smaller than what you would usually wear. Get them on Amazon.com or at Dick's Sporting Goods for around $75.

C-C-Cameron, will you be my c-c-commie?

Over the weekend, Cameron Diaz issued an apology for a major fashion faux pas she made during her visit to Peru last week. Apparently, the perky blond actress made the unfortunate decision to sport a Communist star carry-all bag she picked up while visiting China.

As if the red star weren't bad enough, the Chinese writing on the bag also said, "Serve the People" -- a famous motto from Chairman Mao that was evoked during the Maoist uprisings of the 1980s and 1990s, which took the lives of 70,000 Peruvians.

Cameron's apology issued to the Associated Press said: "I sincerely apologize to anyone I may have inadvertently offended. The bag was a purchase I made as a tourist in China and I did not realize the potentially hurtful nature of the slogan printed on it. I'm sorry for any people's pain and suffering and it was certainly never my intention to reopen what I now know is a painful wound in this country's history."

Way to offend an entire nation, Cam!

I can understand that she may have failed to consult her translator when she purchased the shoulder bag, but to claim that she didn't know the red star symbolized Maoism? Cameron may want us to think she's not old enough to remember the Cold War, but we all know which decade she was born in.

Hello Kitty enters cartoon bride market

Cartoon-inspired bridal wear is apparently an industry on the rise. You probably noticed the release of Disney's new bridal collection, as it's been plastered all over the Internet the last couple of days (I posted about the story here a couple months ago), but the real news is that there's another player on the scene: Hello Kitty.

Before I get into this, let me get something off my chest. I have a 2 1/2 year-old daughter, so my life is literally bombarded with Hello Kitty everything -- shoes, sunglasses, lunch boxes, sippy cups, shirts, etc., etc., etc.... Subsequently, I hate that little fur ball.

But even if I didn't, I'm not sure I could bring myself to believe that any self-respecting bride would wear jewelry featuring annoying cartoon characters as she walked down the aisle. Nevertheless, news from Fashionista.com is that "The favored jeweler of Cameron Diaz created over fifty pink and pearl pieces, intended for weddings and starring a special cartoon of Hello Kitty where she's decked in a wedding veil the color of lipgloss."

Ugh. I just keep looking at it asking: seriously?

Something smells funny -- maybe it's Cameron Diaz?

I can't say that I've ever been particularly fond of actress Cameron Diaz. Lovely as she is, she can't really act, and to me, that's a major strike against someone.

However, over the past 24 hours, Cameron has started to grow on me.

First off. Yesterday at the grocery store, I happened to pick up a copy of US Weekly when I was waiting in the check out aisle. Anyhoo, the cover story included a VERY funny photograph of a VERY stoned Cameron Diaz smoking pot on the beach.

To add to that, this morning I happened to catch a news story on Diaz in which the actress described her rather unconventional post-Justin dressing habits. Cameron told Femalefirst, "I have a new philosophy. I always wear whatever I'm wearing, the same outfit, for four days, and then I never wear it again."

Four days in a row, eh? Well, I guess that explains the public pot smoking -- if ever there were a smell to cover up the odor of four-day-dirty clothes it would have to be marijuana.*

White hot at the Golden Globes

I must be confused. I look at the calendar, I see the month of January. I look at the thermometer, I see the low 50s (in Southern California, brrrr). The stars at the Golden Globes however, must be on some alternate plane of existence because for the most part they were dressed for a balmy summer night.

Forget those rules about not wearing white before Memorial Day, white was the look of the moment. Not winter white but bright white. Those wearing white included Sienna Miller, Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Kate Winslet, Heidi Klum, Ellen Pompeo, Salma Hayek and Hayden Panettiere, shown here. That's a whole lot of white. Blogdorf Goodman has an excellent breakdown of who is wearing what (complete with runway pics of the fashions in their original couture incarnations) and Just Jared has great photo galleries. Who wore white the best? As much as young Hayden here looks adorable, I give the nod to Kate Winslet in her simple draped white Azzaro. Worst white dress has to go to Cameron Diaz who paired her flounced Valentino with overly bright red lipstick for a very garish effect.
