We have found one for you, or maybe just us- you decide.

The above video explains how anyone can fold a t-shirt in just 2-seconds. Yes, by spending two minutes of your life watching the clip you too can fold like the wind in no time (not to be confused with watching a two minute clip on Emmanuel Goldstein). Follow the simple steps of pinch and release and you should make those two minutes up by 2011.

If the only thing keeping you from this wonderful time-saver is a lack of t-shirts to fold then you need look no further than here, here, and of course, here.

Now, watch and fold. Time is of the essence.

Whit Honea is a slacker, a borderline degenerate, and a daydream believer. He's also our resident expert on casual chic. If it's comfortable, and not heinous, he's all over it. So it is with NKOTB, but at least they're their latest look is way more fashionable than the old terrible haircuts and acid-washed jeans.

Their first video in 14 years starts out like a commercial for some new Tommy Hilfiger fragrance or boxer-briefs. Thankfully, the director didn't opt for any scenes with the aging icons in their skivvies. We have to assume that the boy band -- now man band -- is getting in on some of this fashion designer sponsorship payola, but we're not sure who's dressing them yet.

No real surprises here, the music still sucks. The main difference between this version of NKOTB and the last is: it's starting to get really creepy. Get a load of that yacht that Joey is hanging out on. Nice touch.

Gallery: NKOTB: Then and Now
<a href="http://"www.styledash.com"/photos/nkotb-then-and-now/815662/"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.styledash.com/media/2008/05/81110229_thumbnail.jpg" alt="The "New" New Kids" title="The "New" New Kids" /><a href="http://"www.styledash.com"/photos/nkotb-then-and-now/815661/"><a href="http://"www.styledash.com"/photos/nkotb-then-and-now/815657/"><a href="http://"www.styledash.com"/photos/nkotb-then-and-now/815666/"><a href="http://"www.styledash.com"/photos/nkotb-then-and-now/815663/">

[via PopCrunch]

Permalink | Email this | Comments

Will Hot Topic survive Perez Hilton?

Filed under: Bags and Purses, Accessories, Style in the media, Casual wear, Designers, Videos, Celebrity Style

Perez Hilton's new "fashion" line at Hot Topic is geared towards his demographic of readers, young, female and cheap. Yet, American Apparel's sexy and controversial image is pretty much the one big piece of marketing genius that keeps them from being another Hanes. The uber-liberal corporate image, pro-labor business policies, and titilating ads are exactly what draws in the young, fashiony, hipster types. You've got to hand it to him, few people have made such a reputable business off of soft-core porn.

[via Jezebel]

Permalink | Email this | Comments

Rock the 30 Rock

Filed under: Haute Home, Accessories, Style in the media, Casual wear, Men, Videos, Tops, Celebrity Style

In fact, he's listed as one of the Top 40 Hollywood golfers. That's why he teamed up with Swedish golfing sensation Johan Edfors to put together a collection of golf apparel set to be released this spring. The two were selected by Puma to design this summer's chrome collection -- part of a conscious effort to bring some style and "bling" back into the boring world of golf attire.

Continue reading Luke Wilson designs for Puma Golf

Permalink | Email this | Comments

DIY distressed jeans

Filed under: Vintage wear, Jeans and Denim, Videos
The guys at Threadbanger.com put together a step by step guide to destroying a new pair of jeans using organic, non-toxic methods. It's really not as time-consuming as you might think, and it's cheap too! Especially if you've got some old jeans in your closet that you can't bring yourself to get rid of. Using only espresso coffee, a bucket of hot water, and sandpaper, you can give your boring old jeans those vintage scars literally overnight.

The vintage jeans look has been around for a way long time now and it looks like it might never go away. While I'm not really a fan of jeans with artificial wear spots and holes -- I like to break them in slowly -- putting the wear and tear into a pair of jeans actually sounds fun -- if only for the sheer pleasure of destroying stuff.

If you're the type of person who thinks that it's stupid to pay extra for a designer to put holes in your jeans when you could save all the fun for yourself, you should give it a whirl.

[via SeeJackShop]

Permalink | Email this | Comments

Santana and Mariah Carey in Macy's commercial

Filed under: Style in the media, Videos, Celebrity Style
Carlos Santana has a line of women's shoes? How is it that I've never heard of this? As I was watching this commercial for Macy's, I kept wondering how they managed to come up with a commercial that featured a conversation between Mariah Carey and Carlos Santana. Before I realized that he had his own line of shoes to hock, it just made no sense at all -- why would Mariah Carey want to ask Carlos what stilettos sound like? (they sound like Carlos wailing, btw)

After watching this commercial, I'm pretty sure that Macy's has haphazardly discovered a next great marketing scheme, and it would work for just about any product. No, I'm not talking about celebrity endorsements -- but managing to squeeze Mariah Carey, Carlos Santana, Martha Stewart and Donald Trump all into one 30-second spot is pretty impressive. What I mean is having famous guitar players interpret fashion items musically. Just imagine Slash doing YSL's Spring lineup.

I was pretty disappointed when I went to the Carlos by Carlos website and there weren't any sound-bytes where Carlos had interpreted each shoe on electric guitar. Before I buy shoes from Carlos Santana, I want to know what they sound like.

[via PopCrunch]

Permalink | Email this | Comments

Bend it like Bindi

Filed under: Style in the media, Casual wear, Sporty wear, Designers, Videos, Celebrity Style, Kids and Babies, Do Good

Little Bindi Irwin is taking steps that her father the Crocodile Hunter would be proud of. Apparently, MTV has announced that it won't air the video because it flunked the Harding Test, a set of guidelines set up to protect epileptic viewers from images that might trigger an incident. That's how trippy it is.

It's really too bad that the video is being held up by the strobing psychedelia, because it features a lot of great fashion nostalgia. Looks like director Chris Milk thought that a full-on 90's revival was the best way to compliment the track, yet all the looks fit together with the comeback of bright synthetic fabrics that's going on -- a very savvy choice by the video's costume designer.

Justin Timberlake makes a cameo as a geeky VJ, decked out in full on 90's style with an Eddie Murphy jacket and glasses. The video takes place on the set of a fictitious TV show, sorta like a Soul Train, but on a 60's soundstage. I see funky fresh parachute pants, bright colors and nylon -- I get excited thinking about 90's nostalgia.

[via PopCrunch]

Permalink | Email this | Comments

Hey Paris, nice monk

Filed under: Videos, Celebrity Style, Books
Superstars are always looking for cutting edge fashion accessories. Something that really sums them up as a person and shows the public what they're all about. So what's Paris Hilton's choice for this week? Why, it's a Buddhist monk, of course. Couldn't you tell that she's all about a life of quiet meditation and shunning material possessions?

Apparently, Paris turned a lot of heads last weekend when she showed up at an LA book store called The Bodhi Tree with a new Buddhist life coach. The duo spent some time together in the spiritual book store, searching for some reading material to help Paris achieve enlightenment. They purchased a book called The Path to the Painted Shaman, and then the 'monk' convince Paris to give away a huge diamond necklace that she was wearing to a stranger. Ridiculous.

Gallery: Paris Hilton
<a href="http://"www.styledash.com"/photos/paris-hilton-1/470609/"><a href="http://"www.styledash.com"/photos/paris-hilton-1/470608/"><a href="http://"www.styledash.com"/photos/paris-hilton-1/470607/"><a href="http://"www.styledash.com"/photos/paris-hilton-1/470606/"><a href="http://"www.styledash.com"/photos/paris-hilton-1/470605/">

I sort of felt like she had intruded on sacred ground, defiling a bookstore that's frequented by honest, soul-searching Americans. Then, I found out that the 'guru' that she had in tow was actually a Hollywood actor by the name of Maxie Santillan. Who doesn't?

Regis and Kelly are fans, or at least pretend to be for the sake of an interview. The morning talk show hosts welcomed the remaining four designers to their show, Live With Regis and Kelly, and gave them some props and discussed a design from each. Then Kelly begged for help. I think she was more concerned with Regis- ever since the monotone tie on shirt thing he's been hell to give fashion advice to.

Boy, those talk show hosts are thorough in their probing (due to time constraints I will be skipping the obvious joke here). Rami, Jillian, Chris and Christian were asked about the winner, since the show is taped and the winner was decided some time ago. The camera panned them for telltale signs, but they have all been practicing their poker faces. The only hint I found was that Christian replied that he was happy with the winner. Fierce.

Maybe you've got the itch to just do it yourself? Well, my awesome friends over at Threadbanger are here to help you out. Their weekly video podcast is full of great tips and tutorials on DIY fashion, as well as the scoop on plenty of underground independent designers.

In the most recent episode, they travel to New York Fashion Week and chat with Malan Breton of Project Runway season 3 fame, check out a fashion show by punk rock indie design house New York Couture, and finally give you a video tutorial on how to make a fabulous ruffle collar, based on one seen in James Coviello's Fall 2008 collection. There's also a tutorial on their blog, if you're not into video. It's a really simple sewing project, and the result is amazing! Who said you need to spend thousands of dollars to get an fresh-from-the-runway look?

Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

Louis Vuitton's first commercial

Filed under: Style in the media, High-end threads, Designers, Videos
At first, I thought it might be a life insurance commercial -- nope. Then, I was sure it was a credit card ad -- wrong again. Finally, I figured out what it was: a confusing waste of Louis Vuitton's advertising budget.

The minute and a half spot starts out with foggy travel images with meditative classical guitar music underneath -- the kind they play while you're getting a hot stone massage. Then, text flashes across the screen, lecturing you about how life is a journey. Not just some vacation, but a quest of self-discovery, man. Enlightening stuff, to be sure.

I guess buying a $2,000 purse could be a pretty good lesson in self discovery -- you might discover that you have a cash flow problem. The whole thing seemed to say "vacations are overrated, spend the money on a purse instead."

For their first ever TV commercial, you think LV would try to do something a little more memorable, this one played like a promo for a PBS travel show. They could have at least gone for shock value, like Prada.

[via Fashionista]

Permalink | Email this | Comments

Jane Fonda: you can't say that on television

Jane Fonda used some colorful language on the this morning's Today Show. I sure hope they did some serious clearance work to make sure that Jane could drop the "C" word on television. Otherwise, the FCC is going to have to raid their studios and put Matt Lauer in a head lock. Of all the four letter words -- and there are some juicy ones out there -- c*nt is on the short list of words I try to forget, so I never accidentally say it on national TV.

Seriously though, how is it that Janet Jackson's partially covered boob puts the FCC in an uproar and Jane Fonda gets to drop a C-bomb on the Today Show? Don't tell me Fonda gets a pass because she's referencing the Vagina Monolouges. This is not "high art" people, this is the Today Show with Meredith Vieira -- and on Valentines Day no less!? So, I'm happy to report that Tyra didn't fall into that trap. Instead, she decided to pull a really dumb stunt that involves her ripping her pants off -- that ought to work right?

Tyra, along with the front row of her studio audience, ripped their jeans off on Monday -- to be fitted with jeans that fit a woman more naturally. I guess it was meant to be some form of protest against the tyranny of blue jean designers. Somehow, I think the message might have been overshadowed by the fact that Tyra was awkwardly whooping it up in front of the camera without any pants on. Plus the fact that dudes will be the ones watching this video on repeat.

I probably got a little overly excited when I read the headline for this video -- but hey -- Tyra does flash the camera for a second. Too bad the cameraman was way too far back. Nice going cameraman, ruined it for everybody.

[via PerezHilton]

Permalink | Email this | Comments

Lost: the Others shop at Old Navy

Filed under: Style in the media, Casual wear, Sporty wear, Videos
This is a huge week in TV history folks, and if you have to ask why -- you must not own a TV. Having to wait for tonight's unveiling of Lost season 4 is tearing me up inside. I was surfing for some Lost info when I came upon this piece of footage. For those of you who just can't wait -- like me -- and you just have to get a little nibble of Lost action to tide you over until 8PM central time, here's a teaser for tonight's episode.

On a more fashion related note, have you noticed that the Others shop at the Gap and Old Navy? I wouldn't say any of them were trendy dressers really, but they seem to have a kind of suburban shopping mall look about them. Before his demise, I'm pretty sure that Mr. Friendly was a covert spokesman for Eddie Bauer store.

Do they order from the catalog, or shop online? I guess when it's really important, they can send the submarine to pick up some fresh duds. They ought to start a hand-me-down thing with the rest of the island -- Jack's been wearing the same pair of jeans for like 91 days.

Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

Barnyard runway fashion: Best. Cows, goats, and more, all strutting down the runway, acting like divas, and puking in the bathroom -- just like real models!

It's an ad for Harvey Nichols, an upscale UK department store that sells clothing, home accessories, and -- somewhat randomly -- food. Embracing the oddity of combing eating and fashion, the company came up with the above TV spot -- which is totally genius.

If you're as enamored as I am, keep reading for a behind-the-scenes "making of" video that shows you how the whole thing came together. They've managed to bring fun modern styles to all of us who can't afford to drop $5,000 on a designer kitchen table. But even if you're totally obsessed with the store's streamlined solutions for modern living, you wouldn't want to live there -- right?

Probably not, unless you're this guy. Mark Malkoff was having his apartment fumigated, which meant he needed to find a place to stay -- bummer. He's a comedian and filmmaker, and all his starving artist friends didn't have room in their tiny studio apartments for a guest. Instead of blowing money on a hotel, Mark had a novel idea -- why not just stay in one of those display apartments in the local IKEA?

Seems crazy, but for some reason, the store actually agreed to let Mark take up residence in their New York location. He lives on the shop floor, eats all his meals at the cafeteria (hooray, Swedish meatballs!), and showers in the back offices.

The best part is that if you'll be New York this week, you can actually visit Mark. He'll be at IKEA through January 12th (after which he'll be heading home to his apartment). Everyone else can check back on Mark's website for daily videos about what life is like instead the home style mega store.

Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

Model makes orgasm commercial, then sues because "it looks lewd"

Let's be honest. Big companies often don't play nicely. They're out to make money, not protect your image, so -- especially if you're a model, actor, or anyone else in the public eye -- it shouldn't be all that surprising when they misrepresent you in order to earn a little extra cash.

However, when you agree to lie on a bed and fake an orgasm on film, it seems like you should expect to look, well, a little dirty. That's what this model agreed to do for a jewelry company called Szul. However, now that the commercial is all over YouTube (as you might suspect, it's fairly popular), she's worried that it might tarnish the "wholesome image" she's "worked hard to project."

Gallery: More Racy Model Ads
<a href="http://"www.styledash.com"/photos/more-racy-model-ads/567246/"><a href="http://"www.styledash.com"/photos/more-racy-model-ads/567244/"><a href="http://"www.styledash.com"/photos/more-racy-model-ads/567245/"><a href="http://"www.styledash.com"/photos/more-racy-model-ads/567247/"><a href="http://"www.styledash.com"/photos/more-racy-model-ads/567243/">

She's not working that hard, apparently.

To be fair, the model (who is married, and a graduate student in early education), was told that the commercial's plot would be focused on a man giving her a necklace -- and she spent the majority of her time filming that relatively innocuous storyline. At the end of the shoot, the director had her lie down and "fake excitement" (read: pretend to have an orgasm) over and over until he thought he had a take that looked believable.

Seems like both sides have a valid argument: what do you think?

View Poll

Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments
