We're huge vintage shoppers. Not only is vintage a great way to recycle, the clothes are totally unique, and you can often snag a designer piece for a great price. Case in point -- $102 Burberry Blazer purchased last week. Admittedly, we do not set aside enough time to make the 2 hour trek to NYC to hit the stores so we go the lazy man's way by shopping EBay.

The 'big kid eco pack' is designed for kids ages 5-10, and is "made of PET (100% recycled plastic bottles) with canvas trim, a naturally biodegradable fabric." They feature themes of peace, love and recycling. It's like understanding, but not as funny.

Is your kid a bit younger? No problem, what the 'little kid backpack' lacks in sustainable material it makes up for in creative design and durability. It's created to fit the 2-5 set and will hold all the crayons they can break.

Today's interview is with Anisa Makhoul, a Michigan native who received a BFA from Minneapolis College of Art before moving to Portland, Oregon where she started producing her designs locally and founded Makool Clothing. For the past eight years Makool Clothing has been growing a cult following right at the cutting edge of the fashion scene. Once bitten, Twice Shy, baby. We don't know what that has to do with the company or t-shirts, but we weren't going to be able to go any further in this post without throwing those lyrics out there. The song is just too damn catchy.

Twice Shy features "organic fashion for sinners everywhere." You know who you are. They also have a line, Fig, featuring organic styles for children. Kids, of course, are free of sin, ornery as they can be. They still need organic clothes though.

If we had to pick one store that we couldn't live without it would most likely be Target. Sure, other stores sell fancier things and have more ambiance, but from the minute we buy our customary bag of popcorn and Icee for ONE DOLLAR, we're in and we're hooked. These days, with laptops, Blackberries, iPhones, etc., it seems like everybody's looking for the perfect piece of luggage to tote around their gadgets and junk. Now, you could throw down a few hundred bucks for a celebrity-endorsed luxury hand bag. Or, if you happen to have a soft spot for the environment, you could be a responsible human being and get a sustainable purse, murse, courier bag or hold-all from Terrapax.

Terrapax has a seriously green business model that includes the uses of all organic, renewable fabrics like hemp and linen, and they turn out some seriously durable luggage. The even buy back their old bags and recycle the hardware and hemp. The company was started by James Cox, who left North Face in '92 to design bags that don't contain petrochemical-based fibers like nylon and polyester.

Just in case you were wondering, those are genuine stag horn closures on this organic hemp shoulder bag. No animals were not harmed in the making of it though -- they shed their antlers each spring.

We've all heard about the wonders of duct tape, how it adheres, fixes and does anything. Some say it is the cure to all that ails us. While that might be taking it a bit far, it is something special, we agree wholeheartedly. Does it fix comma splices?

The good folks at Shalgo Industries are believers. They take it even further by suggesting that duct tape is not only a mender of things, but that it can actually be the thing itself. By that rationale it should be able to repair itself. It's like some sort of regenerating miracle. We should probably keep an eye on it.

As a New Orleans local, we're loving what reusable shopping bag company What's ur Bag is doing. Not only have they created a new line of environmentally friendly reusable grocery bags in a range of fun colors and prints, but they're also doing all they can to help bring back the recovering New Orleans economy. The bags are manufactured by a company that was totally destroyed by Hurricane Katrina and rebuilt, and all of the labels, packaging and material come from vendors based in NOLA as well. Their website was designed by a single mom from New Orleans and five percent of all profits go to Hope House, a New Orleans charity that feeds, trains, houses and clothes the homeless.

There are tons of eco-friendly reusable bag options on the market right now, but many are made in China. You can feel good in more ways than one by shopping with a reusable bag from What's ur Bag.

Have you ever seen a piece of furniture that you were just dying to have? Be careful what you ask for. Coffin Couches make sofas from actual recycled caskets. We're not sure how to tie that together, but it felt right.

Coffin Couches is the ultimate in green furniture design. The couches are made from coffins that they acquired from funeral homes. Apparently, due to health and safety issues, it is illegal for the general public to purchase used coffins, so the company was able to approach the funeral directors with the mindset of recycling.

We were watching 30 Rock the other night and realized that those crafty types at General Electric had stretched Earth Day into Earth Week. The nerve. We're okay with it though, because we live every day like it's Earth Day. We also live every week like it's Shark Week. Carpe Diem is not lost on us.
