Dress of the Day: Gabby Bubble Dress
We tucked away the color purple, along with My Little Pony and mermaids, when we graduated from elementary school. However, with purple a prominent color on designers' palettes this season (is that too much alliteration for a Sunday morning?), we've been paying closer attention to it and its many shades. We love the Gabby Bubble Dress, which is simply identified as "purple," but is really a lighter lilac in our eyes. The dress with the subtly bubble silhouette comes from House of Spy, the line from former biology student Wendy Wong. The fabric is 70% silk, 30% cotton, and 100% made for late Spring. The halter strap is detachable.
Available from Revolve Clothing for $187.

Thank God it's Friday, because we weren't sure how long we could last without having a reason to wear the Tank Waterfall Dress by Grace Sun.
Ah, how could we not love a dress from a designer line called "Hussy?"
We always love the timelessness of a shirtdress, and
In honor of all that is green and good for Earth Day today, we're slipping into the
Never in a million years did we think we would ever wear something from Tommy Bahama, a brand that we have historically associated with 55 year old wealthy retired men in Orange County whose favorite past time is deep sea fishing (don't ask us how we built that image in our heads - we just did).
If there's one thing we can do to make ourselves feel like Spring even when it's 40 degrees outside (yes, we exaggerate, we know, but if you lived in LA you'd be mad at Mother Nature, too), it's dressing in Spring flingy clothes.
We're bringing you another pretty little Spring dress because we happened to miss the Dress of the Day on Friday; and if there's one thing we can't tolerate, is not having enough dresses to get us through the weekend.
We love the look of navy blue and white for Spring, and this year, we're seeing a splash of kelly green added to the color duo all over the place to make for a striking threesome.
RareChic is packing up and moving to New York so they're having a moving sale (which we didn't quite understand because the store is online - but hey, who are we to argue with a sale?). Everything is 25% off, including this adorable silk mini dress by Kate and Kass.
Really, just how many shirtdresses can we have? Is there a point at which we might have too many?
We're definitely sure we love the maxi dress that is long on attention this season, and surely into the summer. However, we're not sure we can actually pull the floor-length style off during the day.
We'll be honest with you all.
If it's Spring, it's definitely time to pull out the quintessential Spring time color palette of nautical navy blue and white. But you don't have to wear a pair of white sailor pants and Gilligan shirt. Tufi Duek's "Beth" dress is made of a navy blue jersey stretch fabric. The satin scoop neckline will let you breathe, and features a very nautical-inspired white rope and grommet detail. Pleating at the bustline and at the back make the dress a comfortable wear for daytime. We'd outfit this dress with a pair of flats, either in a matching navy blue, or patent red for contrast.
