Michael Buckner is a fashion and celebrity photographer who travels around the world taking pictures on the red carpet. He gives us a behind-the-scenes look at the hottest entertainment industry events.

It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon in sunny Los Angeles (on the planet's surface, at least). Then I donned some 3-D goggles and went to the premiere of Journey to the Center of the Earth. The latest Warner Bros. epic held its premiere during the Los Angeles Film Festival's final day.
I had two major challenges to face this time. First, It was early afternoon sun, and every celebrity was looking directly into it. I had the fear that it was going to be another sunglass fashion day. To correct the problem, I decided with the other photogs that we would just shoot them in the corner of the red carpet in some shade with no backdrop or signage. So when the editors look at these pictures they are going to have no idea where I was today.
Second problem, I was wedged in between two of the loudest characters on the red carpet. A quick back story: Most of these photographers have been doing this longer than I've been on the Earth, and have little to no respect for newcomers. I'm on my fourth year in the business, but still suffer some rookie hazings and humiliations. These two characters are both on the larger side, so my spot was slowly disintegrating. I was standing sideways, reaching over myself to get a straight shot and screaming at the top of my lungs like a macaque so talent will glance in between my enormous competition. It makes a simple day into quite a challenge.
But all in all, when the red carpet cleared, I was very happy with the result. This was a decent day for fashion. Check out the gallery of celebrities like Jennifer Morrison, Marley Shelton, Anita Briem and Ashley Benson.
