Can you get curly hair from a curling shampoo?

As the sun gets hotter and the humidity rises, many girls who straighten their hair most of the year opt to go curly. If you're considering going curly for the season, you might be intrigued by the idea of a curling shampoo.
But, according to The Beauty Brains, you probably shouldn't waste your money.
Curling shampoos don't actually do anything to curl your hair. They don't do anything to hinder curling your hair, so it might be more receptive to styling it curly than it would be if you used a heavy conditioning shampoo, but you're not going to get out of the shower with a head full of curls.
What about you curly-haired girls out there? What are some of your favorite summertime products for going curly?
