Surfing idol Laird Hamilton knows how to look good when he's riding a wave. He also looks pretty good on the beach. And he wants to make sure surfers all over are able to look good, too, while saving their pennies for new surf boards and Sex Wax.

Laird has come out with a line of surfing-inspired clothing that will be available at Steve & Barry's, and all pieces will sell for under $9.98. The slogan behind the clothing (and Laird's personal motto) is "We are all equal before a wave."
So why did he opt to go the SJP route and sell such affordable clothes? He was raised by a single mom, and money was tight growing up. He may be a surf stud now, but he remembers how it felt to be teased by the kids who had the "cool" clothes. Well, who's laughing now, huh?

But seriously, we think the idea is awesome, and the clothes are pretty cool and beachy. Way to go, Laird!
