Flashback: Not pink eye, pink eyeshadow

Stylelist has a how to guide for wearing colored eyeliner, which is totally fun, and balances really well with all the brights we're seeing for clothes this season.

Clicking through the looks gave us sweet 80s nostalgia. Purple eyeliner! Sparkly green! Ah, ninth grade! Then we came across a pictures of lip liner and vivid pink blush and had to laugh.

That particular look also transported us back to ninth grade, this time to our first High School dance. We spent hours getting our bangs all hard and high, and pegging our baggy jeans just so. The pièce de résistance was pink eyeliner topped by hot pink blush all the way up to our eyebrows, à la David Bowie.

Mom had a few things to say about going out looking like a sick freak. We haughtily ignored her, only to be crushed by the first boy who asked if we had pink eye. Fortunately eye makeup comes off fast with a few tears.

Needless to say, these days we keep anything in the red/pink family on lips and cheeks, where it belongs. No need to relive the moment. Now blue mascara...we might just have to pick up a tube of that hot look on our next trip to Sephora.
