Chichi vs. Simple: Black liquid liner dilemma
My sister swears by this fancy Dior Style Liner and badgered me to try it during a recent visit. The tiny silver pot is delicate and pretty and it made a rich, sooty black line on her. One trip to Sephora and $30 later, I was in the club. So, 30 bucks for .08 ounces, that must have been some liner gold, right? Well...yes and no.
As nice as the Dior liner is, after a couple of weeks I started to miss my plain old L'Oreal Lineur Intense. The felt tip applicator is easier to control than a traditional brush and gives the best corner up-flick ever. It also never gets all tempera-paint-powdery, even at the end of a long day.
For $8.50 on drugstore.com, the L'Oreal liner is by far the better deal, although the name flakes off the tube in the first week. In this case, you're definitely paying for what's on the inside.
In the end, I went back to my reliable and less glamorously packaged standby. The Dior liner looks pretty on my make up table, but the L'Oreal looks great on me. Easy decision.
