New York Fashion Week: The Heart Truth

I know it's a little soon to start picking favorites, but so far The Heart Truth has been my favorite show so far. Perhaps it was the fact that the models were celebrities; I mean it was a refreshing change from typical models ... celebrity models smile, look like they have eaten more than a grape, and they had a great time out there. The show started out with First Lady Laura Bush giving a speech about the importance of women taking care of their hearts, after all that is what this show was all about. Heart disease is the #1 killer amongst women and getting the word out is key to ending this preventable disease.
Once the serious stuff was over, Laura Bush was whisked off the stage and the show began. The head of the runway was sprinkled with faux paparazzi snapping away that the celebrities who graced the catwalk. Some notable celebs included Sara Ramirez from Grey's Anatomy, Ana Ortiz from Ugly Betty, Lisa Rinna from Dancing with the Stars, Maria Menounos, Liza Minnelli, Molly Sims, and the always-beautiful Heidi Klum.
The energy of the show as unreal! The "models" shimmied, shook, and danced themselves down the runway as the music pumped throughout the main tent. The audience (dressed in red) was also dancing and clapping to show their support.
My favorite parts of the show were Heidi Klum's runway walk, which was filled with kisses and cuteness. Sarah Ramirez had an incredible walk down the catwalk as she strutted her curves with the most confidence that I had ever seen. But the icing on this fabulous cake was Liza! Liza Minnelli floated down the runway in a Halston Original that was sequined to the max. On her walk back, just as we thought the show was over, Liza grabs a microphone and starts singing --
" Start spreading the news ..."
Ah, what is better than New York, New York? Nothing! The crowd went wild, red confetti poured from the ceiling, and all of the model/ celebs came out with hugs and kisses for Liza.
Incredible, I know we are only a few hours in but this has been the best show so far.

Yeah, I heard about this news that heart disease kills more American women than any other disease before. I think women should take care of themselves a lot. Yoga, I think it is a very very good choice for women. At the same time, I think the knowledge about preventing heart attacks is also very important. Yeah, they need to know all about the disease. This kind of book, I think, seems helpful:
