2008's hottest polish, Chanel blue satin
Last year Chanel's black satin nail polish was all the rage. Every celebrity was wearing it and bottles of the polish were being sold on eBay for around $60. This Spring Chanel blue satin is the color to covet and I got my hands on a bottle.
This is hands down my favorite nail polish. The nail polish goes on nice and thick so if you wanted to skip the second coat you easily could. I opted for two coats which goes on so dark and decadent it almost looks black in some lights but in others a sparkling navy blue.
There was buzz in the past about Chanel's nail polishes chipping easily but that simply isn't the case. I am the queen of chipped nails and I have gone almost four days without a chip using Chanel's polish.
Blue satin will most likely go fast but it is still available on Chanel.com. Ordering from Chanel was the most pleasant and super-secure experience I have had on the web. The package arrived in perfect condition, in a perfect Chanel box with two perfect Chanel samples.

Amen, sister, amen. Just because black nail polish is "all the rage" doesn't mean that crappy writing has to be.

I got a great nail polish as a Xmas gift and except for the new growth at the cuticle and the very tips from my computer typing, my polish has stayed intact, chip free for over 2 weeks, almost 3. It is Avon polish and I am ordering it in several colors. I have better things to do than repair polish every few days. Happy New Yr, Everone!!

I am a nail polish junkee. I love Sephora's own brand which is only $6 and really lasts without chipping.
I shop at Sephora (and over 100 other stores) through an online
shopping mall that gives me between
5-55% back in
cash on all my purchases. There are over 1000 stores including Bare
Necessities, Sephora, Apple, The Gap, Target (great for soo much),
Macy's. I also wait for sales so I get my cash back and the lowest
price
http://www.dailyoink.com The site is ugly, but well worth it.

$60 bucks for one bottle of nail polish? Thanks, I'll keep buying mine for 99 cents at CVS. If anyone feels like they have too much money and don't know how to spend it (hence the urge to spend $60 on nail polish), go ahead and send all your money to me. Problem solved. :)

I totally agree with you - I also bought Chanel Blue Satin, and the application and staying power are perfection!

Sixty dollars for nail polish? You've got to be kidding! What a waste of money. And what an ugly color to boot. Just like blue eye shadow should be illegal, so should blue nail polish. It screams trailer park or goth.

Sally Hansen has a new "10 Day No Chip" polish that really does work. I've done nails for over 20 years & this is the first thing I've really believed the hype about. From my understanding, there are only 5 polish manufactures for polish in the U.S. So you can get the same formula from a bottle of Wet & Wild as from Chanel. GO figure.

Gee, what were you, an English major? Just because this is a blog doesn't mean that you have to throw anything down on the screen. Are the words "edit" and "hone your craft" in your vocabulary? Nope, didn't think so.

I used to be a nail tech, for about 10 years until I decided to become a full time mom and I used to wear a color like that all the time (about ten years ago). Some clients didn't like the color but there were others who just loved it. I am surprised it took so long to become so popular. The only reason I stopped wearing it is because I became tired of it. I wore it for about 4 or 5 years. It is elegant and looks especially beautiful when you have a formal affair to attend.

You need to write an artical on people stupid enough to pay 60.00 for ugly nail polish.

Peronally, I believe woman WASTE so much money on things like nail polish, and highlights, that they should skip a manicure and send that money to a hungry family, or community senter, or donate it to a food pantry. CHANEL is charging $60.00 for this bottle of nail polish, will be be knocked off at Walgreens very soon. Ladies, if your man know how much you waste on this junk, he would leave you in a heartbeat.

To the person who said "if your man know (you mean knew) how much you waste on this junk, he would leave you in a heartbeat", women make their OWN money now and sometimes support losers like you and if they feel they want to spend $19 or even $60 on a bottle of polish, so be it. Women don't need your permission to spend their money the way they want.

I totally agree that as women we often pay toooooooo much for the DUMBEST of things! Overpaying is our right (ignorance). But in the long run YOU WILL feel that pinch! STOP TRYING TO KEEP W/THE JONES (THE 90210'S). Make some good investments. IF IT'S ON YOUR ASS IT'S NOT AN ASSET

Anyway, the article only said you could get it on EBAY for $60...not at Chanel where it is $19...not that I would pay that anyway...

$60??? That's ridiculous. I don't think I've ever paid more than $4 or $5 for a bottle of nail polish. $60 is just outrageous...and it's probably not any "better" than the $3 bottles.

READ People. $60 on Ebay not on the Chanel site. Just like the Juicy stuff on Ebay, way cheaper in Niemans and Saks. Ebay used to be a deal, not anymore. I think the employees are stealing and selling it on the site or thiefs and shoplifters. Stop It! Your one of the main reasons dry goods are so expensive.
