Styledash introduces: Sarah J. Gim
We're working our way around the Styledash team so that you get to know our writers a little bit beyond the sparkling gloss and fabulous shoes. Today, it's Sarah J. Gim, one of your humble leads (Oh, that's moi!) Since I'm not very good writing about myself, I'm doing this as an "interview," which might seem weird since I'm interviewing myself, but hey, you didn't expect anything less than a split personality from a girl in LA, right?Do you have a personal blog?
Yep, but I don't write much about anything style-related on The Delicious Life except to mention that every once in a while, I stomp around the kitchen in a frilly little apron and 4½" stiletto heels.
List three words that describe your style.
Flirty. Rocker. Fickle.
What is your day job, or rather, what do you do when you're not blogging?
Um, not blogging? I also blog for Styledash's food-obsessed sibling, Slashfood. Oh, we said "not blogging."
How long have you been blogging with Styledash and what is your favorite post?
I've been with Styledash even before the September 2006 launch (wait, does that make me "old?"). My favorite post is where readers railed into me for saying that Uggs, along with other trends like bubble skirts, should be trashed.
Do you have any non-style-related, non-blogging hobbies?
"Non-style-related?" Everything is style-related, especially if it involves food. I love cooking -- though I'm not very good at it -- going out to eat, and I've been known to watch hot men in tight pants chase after a small brown ball (I think they call it "football").
Where is your favorite place to shop?
Is "online" an answer? I love shoes, so I am currently having a torrid affair with PiperLime.
Favorite designer?
I'm not really loyal to a single label, brand or designer, or even to a small handful, especially since things change so rapidly in this world. I would say I tend more toward a favorite "look" rather than a single designer.
Music track, album or artist?
Like my sense of style, I am fickle. Sometimes I am bobbing my head to Ludacris and Pharrel's Shake Your Money Maker. Other times I need to kick back with a little Tom Jones. If all else fails, I love anything electronic, particularly drum and bass.
What is your most prized item in your closet?
A mink capelet that my mother wore at her engagement party.
Confession time – what is your personal StyleFoul?
I can't believe I am going to admit this out loud. Sometimes, when I get home late at night, I go to bed without taking my makeup off.
That's it! It appears I am not all that shy about answering questions, so if you have any, ask them in the comments!
